Awards & green building certifications:

Cascade

This home takes its name from the way its form steps down the slope, echoing both the mountain stream outside and the natural flow of water. Modern and contemporary in language, the design plays with shifting levels and ceiling heights to create a sense of movement, like a cascade made permanent. An open kitchen and living room form the heart of the house, balancing glass and stone with warm details drawn from the owners’ Texas roots.

Palmyra

Located off of Last Dollar Road near Telluride, Colorado, this design build ranch development project is graced with a modern farmhouse custom home. From the century old hand hewn timber frame to the 28 foot cantilevered steel I-beam held in place with a 1 inch steel rod hanging from the roof structure that supports the entire loft, this home has details abounding.

Stonewater

This home sits low in the valley, nearly touching the pond it overlooks. Water and horizon define its setting, with broad windows drawing both into the heart of the home. One of its signature features is a steel dock that cantilevers directly from the house, floating above the water without columns beneath — a feat of engineering that makes the connection to the pond feel seamless. Stone, timber, and glass frame the home’s presence, while the landscape and reflected light give it a constant sense of change. Stonewater is at once grounded in its site and reaching outward, a place where architecture and water meet.

Ponderosa

Situated at 11,000 feet this high country family retreat is miles from its neighbors. With only snow machines to access the property during the winter months, the hardy crew persevered and completed this design build project in under 13 months.

Aspen

This Rustic Gold Creek project is situated up a dirt road on the way to Alta Lakes, just outside of Telluride, Colorado. It is a unique property that sits alone on a bench surrounded by nature. The reclaimed materials bring forth textures, depth and history to each of the individual buildings.

The Benefits of Design Build

Our Design Build process provides a turnkey building process that allows an owner to collaborate with an organized team of professionals from the earliest planning stages to the completion of the construction. The owner manages only one contract with a single point of responsibility. The designer and the contractor are together from the beginning, as a team, providing unified project recommendations to fit the schedule and budget. Any changes are addressed by the entire team, leading to collaborative problem-solving and innovation.

The design build approach allows design, estimating, permitting and construction activities to be conducted concurrently. It also allows for the simplification of the architectural drawings, thus saving time and money for the owner. Other benefits of the design build approach include more customer participation in the design and in the end the builder has complete familiarity with every aspect of the project.  From the very beginning, the team is assembled and orientated to meeting the needs of the client, working as a unified whole to carefully balance project costs, attention to detail, and quality of construction. The benefit is a more cohesive plan and the best value for the client.
